Condolence: My sympathies go out to the Donald family whom I remember with such fondness. I said kaddish for Bill in synagogue Saturday morning. I know that he was not Jewish, but he directed us in Fiddler on the Roof in 1978, so I can only imagine that he would be tickled by the gesture. I learned so much from Bill and he was such an important part of my young life. I think of him still.
I know that I speak for many many members of Salem's Ram Theater and Oakwood Summer Theater when I say that Bill is remembered and loved.

Condolence: I am deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Donald's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you-the family!
I am very sorry that I never told him how he influenced my life. I was an exchange student from Austria (Michaela Fabrick) at Vernon Highschool in 1987. I was very homesick and only Mr. Donald's acting classes and the play the Crucible- where I got the part of Abigail- kept me going. I had acted as a child in movies in Austria before but this was my first theater performance. I loved it and I became a professional actress in Austria for many years- I always kept the little blue booklet that Mr. Donald had given us and always cherished the basics of acting that he had taught me.
He really made a difference in my life.
my deepest sympathies

Condolence: All good gifts around us,
are sent from heaven above...(from Godspell)
That definitely includes Mr. William Donald. he was sent to a bunch of young people to guide and teach us to be adults and to love the arts! "Thank the Lord!" for a life well lived and many lives changed because of him. May God bless and comfort his family and all who grieve at his loss.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers go out to the Donald family. I was fortunate enough to be in Mr. Donald's class in 1976. I have thought of him fondly over the years. He was an inspiration then and now seeing all that he has accomplished since 1976 is even more inspiring now. He didn't get comfortable with life, but kept moving forward.

Condolence: My sympathy to the family on Bill's passing. I met Bill in 1988, my first year as a Vernon teacher, when he directed me in a faculty play, "The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild." He was such a talented man, and I will forever have fond memories of working with him. May he rest in peace.
