Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Bock

Thomas Howard Bock of Hardyston walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 15 suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Tommy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Howard Bock of Bloomingdale. Tommy was born on January 19, 2002 in Pompton Plains, the son of Eric and Diane Bock. Tommy was a freshmen attending Sussex Tech High School in Sparta where he played football and he also wrestled for Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hamburg where he received his varsity letter as a freshman. He swam each summer for Lake Tamerack Swim Team, where he received several medals for his breast stroke.

Tommy was an avid and respected outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tommy also was a wrestler, lacrosse player, surfer and snowboarder as he enjoyed every athletic challenge that he faced.

Tommy was known as a loving and caring son, brother, nephew, grandson and great friend to all that were blessed enough to know him. He was the best big brother to his sister Alison who he adored and loved dearly. Because of his beautiful smile, outgoing personality and general caring for others, Tommy was a joy to be around as his friendship knew no boundaries and he is loved by all and will be missed greatly. In just a short time Tommy has had a positive impact on hundreds of people, all of whom will never forget him. Heaven has gain an angel with a smile like they have never seen before.

Tommy is survived by his parents Eric Bock of Hardyston and Diane Bock of Franklin and his younger sister Allison. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Ellen and Stanley Jakobsen of Pompton Lakes, NJ and grandfather George Monks of Fredon, NJ and his paternal grandmother Marilyn and Gerald Beck of Pa. He is also survived by Aunts and Uncles, Greg and Samantha Monks, Sara and Ken Waldron, and cousins Emma and Jesse Waldron, close family friend Tom Tintle and several close friends.

Services for Tommy Bock will be this Thursday May 11th at St. Jude the Apostle church 4-24 Beaver Run Rd., Hamburg, NJ from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass will be held Friday morning at 11:00 am at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Christopher Reeve Foundation www.christopherreeve.org in Tommy’s name.
