Brenda Ann Keesler, 72, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, NJ. Brenda was born on October 15, 1944 in Sussex, NJ to the late Harvey and Marie (nee Lee) Matthews. Brenda was a resident of Sussex and the last 38 years in Wantage Township.

Brenda was a homemaker and a member of the Frankfort Plains United Methodist Church. She was also a teacher's aide at the Clifton E. Lawrence school for 22 years, where she was well loved by students and teachers alike. Brenda will be forever remembered for her baking prowess, giving as gifts and donating to the church, Christmas candy, fudge, and the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. Neighborhood kids will have memories of her meeting them at the door dressed up in full costumes when they trick-or-treated at Halloween- and hosting enormous Easter egg hunts.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Warren C. Keesler Sr., and her children, Susan Marie Wasienko and her husband Robert of Basalt, CO, and Warren C. Keesler Jr and his wife Cindy of Wantage Township, and a granddaughter, Shannon Marie Keesler, and her brothers, Reginald "Reggie" Matthews of Wantage Township and Gary Matthews of Little River, SC.

There will be a small graveside service for immediate family only.
