Born to George Roger and Rachael Howell in Summit, NJ, she grew up in Livingston, NJ and then lived in Beachwood, NJ before moving to Hamburg, NJ 4 years ago.

Carolyn worked in Admissions and as an E.R. Supervisor for Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. She loved her home and enjoyed cooking and baking.

Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Steven Schmidt (2011) and is the devoted mother of Mark S. Schmidt of Hamburg, NJ. Loving daughter of Rachael Travis and her husband, Richard of Hamburg, NJ. Dear sister of George E. Howell of Hamburg, NJ and Susan Howell Hogg and her husband, John of Warren, NJ. Cherished aunt of Jonathan.
