Obituary for George Memolo
Lake Hopatcong: George Memolo, 90, passed away on Friday June 23, 2017. George was born on July 4, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John and Mary (nee Farana) Memolo. George was a longtime resident of Hackensack, retiring to Deltona, Fl and returning to Lake Hopatcong.
George served during WW II in the United States Army in the Philippines’. He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service from 1958 to his retirement in 1987.
George was predeceased by his wife, Frances (nee LaSala) Memolo in 1999 and his four brothers, Jerry, Johnny, Frank, and Jimmy.
George is survived by his children, Richard Memolo of Deltona, FL, Bernadette Memolo of Lake Hopatcong, and Frank Memolo and his wife Eileen of Hardyston Twp., and his five grandchildren, Jerry, Nicole, Ryan, Chris and Kelly and his six great grandchildren, Natalie, Leyla, Taya, Eric, Joseph and Destiny and his brothers, Michael Memolo and his wife Jane of Long Island, NY and Thomas Memolo and his wife Nancy of Elizabeth City, NC, and his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday June 27th from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home One Main Street, Franklin, NJ, the family will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday June 28th at 9AM for a 10AM for a Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Jude the Apostle RC Church, committal and interment service at North Hardyston Cemetery.
