Obituary for Arthur Francis Maroldi

Arthur Francis Maroldi, 89, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. Born in Hackensack, Arthur resided in Wantage for 40 years before moving to Hardyston with his wife, Janet. Arthur retired from the Horan Imaging Co. in 2002, where he was employed for more than 50 years as an engraving salesman in New York City. After finishing a self-described "short stint” at Seton Hall University, he began his very successful career in sales. Mr. Maroldi was also a member of the Army Reserves from 1948 to 1961. After attending the Armored School in Fort Knox, Ky., he graduated as a 2nd lieutenant and retired with the rank of captain.

An avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, Arthur was a past president of the Advertising Sportsmen Club of New York. He also loved golf and was a long-time member of the Newton Country Club. His love of the outdoors extended to the mountains in winter. An accomplished alpine skier, he raced downhill for the Ski Club of New Jersey in the 1950s and fondly remembered many weekend treks to Vermont and Mont-Tremblant with Janet and friends, saying, “Skiing is my sport!”

Surviving Arthur are Janet, his wife of 62 years, and their four children: Kristin Tartaglia and husband Victor; James Maroldi and wife Elizabeth; Joanne Grennille and husband Richard; and Margaret DeMarchi and husband Steve. Arthur also leaves behind seven devoted grandchildren: Allyson Grennille and husband Tom Howell Jr., Nicholas Tartaglia, Sean Maroldi, Samantha Watson, Steven Tartaglia, Susan Maroldi, and Max Watson.

Remembered for his kindness, generosity, and adventurous spirit, Arthur mastered the art of living life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
