After first meeting Deb at the EDYAP (Eastern Division Young Adult Patroller) event in ’09 we quickly became good friends. We would request rooming together at the annual event and it became a joke to check with one another before going to ensure we didn’t both buy the same item, style, and color from Costco. It happened all too often! Deb was the easiest roomie to get along with and we would announce our arrival back at the condo, after a day of skiing and chaperoning the young patrollers, by calling out to one another with the all too familiar “honey, I’m home.” As NSP Regional Young Adult Advisors we discussed the best ways for recruiting, retention, and general problem solving when it came to working with young patrollers. I will dearly miss her companionship, camaraderie, insights on issues, and most importantly her friendship. May she forever be making gentle turns in fresh powder.
