Condolence: JC and family - we are so saddened to hear the news. We share many of the memories that others have written so wonderfully about. Yet another example of Deb's giving personality was at the MS 100 rides that we enjoyed together. We remember her voice leading our group "Roadscrapers!" Our thoughts and prayers to JC and all of Deb's friends and family.

Condolence: JC, I only met you and Debbie once, but it was so lovely to talk with "bee people." I wish that I had time to know her better, but our brief afternoon together, while not in the happiest of places, was something that I will cherish always.

Condolence: I knew Deb from her childhood days when she lived in Rahway across the street from the Vails. Our families went to the same church: 2nd Presbyterian. My youmgest brother, Philip, was born the same year she.Reading about her adulthood I can tell she had great enthusiasm. She was a woman of many accomplishments. To have relished life as she did and to have made a difference in others' lives is an achievement. It was much too soon for her to depart.

Condolence From: Elizabeth Hermann
Condolence: After first meeting Deb at the EDYAP (Eastern Division Young Adult Patroller) event in ’09 we quickly became good friends. We would request rooming together at the annual event and it became a joke to check with one another before going to ensure we didn’t both buy the same item, style, and color from Costco. It happened all too often! Deb was the easiest roomie to get along with and we would announce our arrival back at the condo, after a day of skiing and chaperoning the young patrollers, by calling out to one another with the all too familiar “honey, I’m home.” As NSP Regional Young Adult Advisors we discussed the best ways for recruiting, retention, and general problem solving when it came to working with young patrollers. I will dearly miss her companionship, camaraderie, insights on issues, and most importantly her friendship. May she forever be making gentle turns in fresh powder. Condolence: I was sad to hear of the passing of Deb. She fought a courageous battle against this cruel disease. She will be deeply missed in the SCBA family, and has also left a permanent mark within the club for all that she's done. May she rest in peace, and all be comforted to believe that she's in a better place, free of pain, to look down upon everyone she knew, and and smile.

Condolence: I don't know where to start and I am so very sad at the news of Deb passing away. Deb, JC and her entire family were considered my extended family over 30 years ago when I moved to NJ. Deb and I spent so many weekends skiing, biking, rafting, playing volleyball and just enjoying life. It was a blast. After we joined NOC, we expanded our group of great friends!! Both Deb and JC were so supportive in my time of need. I will never forget their love and support. JC I hope we can get together soon (I'll be in NJ for work the end of July. My sincere condolences to Deb's Mom, Susan, and of course JC. Sending all my love.

Condolence: I was so very sorry to hear that Debbie finally lost the battle she fought so valiantly for so long. She was a valuable member of the NJ beekeeping community, and I worked with her several times in various volunteer activities for our state beekeeping organization. She was a lovely lady. She will be missed. I regret that other commitments will prevent me from attending the service on Saturday but have absolutely no doubt that the beekeepers in this state will be well represented! Please accept my deepest condolences.

Condolence: Deb was the ski instructor for my very first SkiDuck event at Hidden Valley. The kids and I learned a great deal from her that night. Deb displayed professionalism, pride and enthusiasm in her job always. Every single time I saw her, she was smiling and I always greeted her with a HUGE hug. I am hoping her family & friends will be surrounded by healing white light for a smooth transition. My heart is filled with sorrow as I reflect upon this loss. Tonight, I will bow my head in honor of the bright shiny new star in the night sky. Deb, Thank You for being such an inspiration to us all. Your memory will live on for eternity. Soar On Dearest Snow Angel~ With Much Gratitude and Love, Cheryl

Condolence: Deb was such a huge part of my childhood, having lived just up the street from me and having attended the same church. What great memories from those church retreats! And who cares if we raised a little holy heck....just trying to keep our elders on their toes! I feel SUCH sadness at a life so well-lived cut much to short. We should all live with such passion and enthusiasm. Godspeed Deb.

Condolence From: Mary MacQueen, Nordic Master #011
Condolence: To Deb and her family: May the many memories you made over the years help you to find some peace during this difficult time. Deb, your courage and resilience were an inspiration to all, and I for one was fortunate to have known you. It was an incredible honor to be mentored by you in my quest for my National Ski Patrol Nordic Master certification. Never giving me an easy out, but rather guiding me with the wisdom to make my journey more meaningful. I am indeed proud to call you my sister, my mentor, and my friend. Godspeed Deb, National Ski Patrol Nordic Master #010, we will never forget you!
