Vernon Twp., NJ: Robert Allan Matchett, 57 years old, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 18, 2017. Born to Harold and Jane Matchett in Saddle Brook, NJ, he had lived in West Milford, NJ before moving to Vernon Twp., NJ 30 years ago.

Robert received his BS in Computer Science from Kean College and then worked IT for IBM before becoming Director of Database Administration at CVS Health in Florham Park, NJ a year ago. He was a parishioner of St. Francis deSales RC Church in Vernon Twp., NJ, was an avid hockey player at Skylands, enjoyed playing racquetball and working out. Robert was a dedicated and loving family man.

Robert is predeceased by a brother, Richard Matchett and his in laws, Mario and Rose Gismondi and is the beloved husband for 32 years of Barbara Matchett(nee Gismondi) of Vernon Twp., NJ. Devoted father of Sean R. Matchett and his girlfriend, Michaela Mathis of Vernon Twp., NJ and Megan R. Matchett and her fiancée, Edward Rauch, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC. Loving son of Harold and Jane Matchett of Bloomingdale, NJ. Brother in law of Marc Gismondi of Jacksonville, FL and Neil Gismondi and his wife, Cate of West Milford, NJ. Uncle of Melissa Gismondi and her fiancée, Graham Swan of Somerset, NJ and Adam Gismondi and his wife, Wendy of Matawan, NJ. Grand uncle of Joanna Gismondi.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon Twp., NJ. Cremation is private. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to the family for a favorite charity would be greatly appreciated.
