Obituary for Agnes D. "Tiny" Shelton (Danis)


Ogdensburg: Agnes D. “Tiny” Shelton, 82 died Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Barn-Hill Care Center in Newton while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Shelton, daughter of the late Andrew J. and Rose (Sugar) Danis was born in Ogdensburg March 14, 1935 where she has been a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Shelton was a Registered Nurse having worked at the former Franklin Hospital and later retiring from Andover Nursing Home. She also worked as a substitute nurse at the Ogdensburg Public School and worked at Lord & Taylor in the Rockaway Mall.

Mrs. Shelton was a Parishioner of St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church in Ogdensburg and the churches Rosary Society and Choir.

Mrs. Shelton was predeceased by a son, Robert C. Shelton III in 2006 and sisters, Ann Morris and Rose Search. She is survived by her family whom she so loved, children, Andrea Younkers & her husband Rick of Andover Twp., Edward J. Shelton of Ogdensburg, Mary Kelleher & her husband Ed of Sewell and Kathleen H. Mull & her husband Jake of Green Twp.; sisters & brother, Helen Koch & her husband Paul of Hardyston Twp., Theresa Tomblen of Whippany and John Danis of Lafayette; grandchildren, Jennelle, Rob, Dan, Mindy, Robert, Rhyan, Devan, Jackie, Jocelyn and Kassandra; great grandchildren, Jerry, Samantha, Jeffrey, Jackson, Autumn and Winter Rose; many nieces and nephews and her devoted and best friend, Sheila Phillips and her family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 10:15AM from F. John Ramsey Funeral Home One Main St. Franklin to St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church, Ogdensburg for an 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church 53 Kennedy Ave. Ogdensburg, NJ 07439.
